Laconia------Dana M. Bates, 48, of 63 High Street, died at his home on Friday, September 30, 2005.
Mr. Bates was born July 22, 1957 in Natick, Massachusetts, the son of John S. and Mary L. (Mailly) Bates.
Mr. Bates lived in New Hampton, NH before moving to Laconia twenty years ago. He was a member of the Class of 1975 at Newfound Regional High School. Mr. Bates was employed as a courier for Genesis Eldercare for over five years. He was very artistic and enjoyed doing watercolors and making pottery. He was a dedicated guitarist.
Survivors include his parents, John S. and Mary L. Bates, of Thorndike, Maine; three brothers, William C. Bates of Sanbornton, NH; Richard E. Bates of Georgia and Brian E. Bates of Gloucester, MA; two nephews and one niece.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 10:30AM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for the purchase of a memorial tree may be made to the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, PO Box 170, Unity, Maine 04988.
