Phyllis Jean Hoey Belmont-----Phyllis Jean Hoey, 84, of 13 School Street, died at the Concord Hospice House, Concord on Thursday, May 22, 2008 after a long battle with colon cancer. She was the widow of Edward L. Hoey who died in 1957. Mrs. Hoey was born March 19, 1924 in Laconia, the daughter of William and Charlotte (LaFlamme) Fogg. Mrs. Hoey served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. She was a lifelong resident of Belmont and was employed at the Citizens National Bank for eighteen years where she was the Branch Manger before retiring in 1982. Mrs. Hoey was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont. She was an avid Red Sox Fan and in her earlier years, enjoyed traveling extensively. She was known affectionately as “Titoo” by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She always gave her all to help others in need. Mrs. Hoey was a member of the American Legion Post #58 of Belmont and a member of the N. E. Chapter of the Gold Star Wives of America, Inc. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Terri Hoey, of Lynn, Mass., two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean E. and Ron Poitras of Gilford and Judith A. and Wayne Kimball of Sanbornton; six grandchildren, Amy Ojikutu, Elizabeth Johnson, Jill Mahan, Mark Chmielecki, David Chmielecki and Steven Chmielecki; six great grandchildren; one brother, Richard N. Fogg, of Belmont and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hoey was predeceased by her two sisters, Madeline J. Pike and Elizabeth A. Hoey. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Bemont. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Lambert’s Cemetery, Laconia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N.
