Robert R. Ketchum Gilford--- Robert R. Ketchum, 82 of 36 Bedford Ave. died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia Friday May 9, 2008. Mr. Ketchum was born December 9, 1925 in Tilton the son of Henry R. and Eva J. (Thiberge) Ketchum. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a forward gunner aboard the Aircraft Carrier Hancock. Mr. Ketchum had been employed as a machinist at Johns Manville/Quint Corp. for many years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was the Color Guard Manager for the Lakes Regionaires for many years. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Marie Patricia (Allen) Ketchum of Gilford; 2 sons Allen Ketchum and his wife Wendy of Laconia and Mark Ketchum and his wife Alyce of Arvada, CO.; 2 daughters Kathy Waldron and her husband Michael of Gilford and Cynthia Peterson and her husband Ward of Belmont; 10 grandchildren Conor, Ross, Angela, Ashley, Kimberly, Brendan, Brian, Stacey, Corey and Randy; 3 great-grandchidren; 3 sisters Norma Gorman of Tilton, Lorraine Proctor of Tilton and Elizabeth Guyer of Laconia; several nephews and nieces. Beside his parents he was predeceased by a brother Henry Ketchum and a sister Mae Bourgeois. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Laconia Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor of the church. Burial will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Rt. 3 Boscawen. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, New Hampshire Office One Bedford Farms Drive Suite 105 Bedford NH 03110.
