Weirs Beach-------Nancy Ruth Svindland, 68, a Ft. Myers, FL resident since 1989, formerly of Lucerne Avenue, Weirs Beach, NH, died April 20, 2004 in Ft. Myers. She was born December 2, 1935 in Laconia to the late John Haley and Ruth Hernandez. Mrs. Svindland was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church as well as the Faith United Methodist Church where she participated in both the choir and hand bells. She was also a member of the Front Royal Jaycetts, the Red Hat Society and the D.A.R.
Mrs. Svindland was preceded in death by her husband John Reidar Svindland in 1989 as well as her step father, Dr. Rembert Hernandez.
Survivors include three children, Karol Derflinger and husband Mark of Front Royal, VA, Kristian Svindland and fiancee’ Sarah Torres of Laconia, Katherine Broderick and husband Wesley of Milford, CT as well as two brothers, John Haley and wife Marion of Arvada, CO and Harley Hernandez and wife Margaret of Myrtle Beach, SC along with three grandchildren, Lindsay and Evan Broderick and Madelynn Derflinger.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday April 23, 2004 at the Faith United Methodist Church, Ft. Myers, FL and a Memorial service will be held at a later date at the First United Methodist Church, 500 Gilford Ave., Gilford, NH. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to one of the following: Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Ft.
