Meredith, NH------Richard W. Geoffroy, 75, of 35 Red Gate Lane, Meredith, NH died at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester on Thursday, April 22, 2004.
Mr. Geoffroy was born March 19, 1929 in Lowell, MA the son of Arthur and Grace (Boutheitte) Geoffroy.
Mr. Geoffroy was a sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and served at Chosin Reservoir from November-December, 1950 in North Korea.
In 1982, Mr. Geoffroy moved to New Hampshire and was a resident of Meredith for the last three years. He was the chef and owner of Jeff’s Bridgeway Restaurant at the Weirs for many years and was a former owner of the Korner Kitchen in Lowell, MA.
Mr. Geoffroy was a member of the Lakes Region Marine Corps League and “Chosin Few”.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Peters) Geoffroy, of Merdith, NH; three daughters, Suzan Geoffroy, of Orlando, Florida, Michelle Piper, North Chelmsford, MA and Kristen (Nethercote) Blake of Moultonboro, NH; five grandchildren, David Piper, of Carver, MA, Maxwell Lessard and Alex Lessard both of Lowell, MA and Rachel Blake and Lauren Blake both of Moultonboro, NH; and a great grandson, Garrett Piper of Lowell, MA.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the U. S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots c/o First Sgt. Richard Voutour, B 25th Marines, 64 Harvey Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
