Belmont-----Thomas S. Edwards, Jr., 83, of 21 Farrarville Road, died at the Genesis Eldercare Center, Laconia, on Tuesday, April 13, 2004. He was the widower of Sadye (Joyal) Edwards who died in 2003.
Mr. Edwards was born December 19, 1920 in Vanderburg, New Jersey the son of Sadie (Rosman) and Thomas S. Edwards, Sr. He was the Chief Switchman for the New England Telephone Co. where he was employed for thirty-five years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Mr. Edwards was a former Treasurer for the Town of Belmont. He was a Ham operator with the call letters, “W I J N G” and a member of the Central NH Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed camping and was active with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed his grandchildren and enjoyed playing on the computer.
Survivors include a son, Thomas S. “Skip” Edwards III and his wife, Marge, of Laconia; two grandchildren, Sara E. Vincent and her husband, Rick, of Arlington, VA and Erica A. Edwards of Manchester, NH; one great grandchild, Hannah K. Vincent of Arlington, VA; a sister, Vera Strathern of Gilford, NH; three nieces and many good C. B. friends. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Glenn Edwards.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 2:00PM at the family lot in Homeland Cemetery, Bristol, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of one’s choice.
