Thornton------Mrs. Kathryn Ann Barnard, 71, of 106 Barnard Road and formerly of North Main Street, Laconia, died at Speare Memorial Hospital, Plymouth, NH on Thursday, April 29, 2004.
Mrs. Barnard was born August 18, 1932 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of the late Henry T. and Margaret (Crandall) Spear. She was raised in Laconia and was a graduate of Laconia High School. Mrs. Barnard worked at the Laconia Hardware Store for many years before retiring to the family homestead in Thornton.
Mrs. Barnard was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church, Laconia.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence F. Barnard, Jr., of Thornton; two sons, Scott Barnard of Georgia and Stephen Barnard of Meredith, NH; three daughters, Kay Boudreau of Vermont, Heidi Barnard of Canada, and Peggy Seymour of Gilford, NH; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers. Henry T. Spear, Jr. of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Donald A. Spear of Gilford, NH; two sisters, Mary Lou Goddard of Gilford, NH and Sara J. Re of Orlando, Florida; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert H. Spear, in 2002.
A Calling Hour will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at 3:00 PM also at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
